Where BlogVitals Came From
Since the early 2000's, our founder Miles Burke has been writing, editing and publishing blog posts for himself as well as dozens of others. He's been involved in thousands of blog posts during that time, and has created blogs that have earned millions of readers per year.
Miles is passionate about the success that blogging can bring, and wants to help as many blog publishers and writers as possible.
A few years back he couldn't find a single tool that combined technical SEO, content quality, and readability into one clean report, written in plain English, ordered by impact. So he built one. This is it.
Every check we run is one we've personally needed. Every fix we suggest is one that's moved the needle on a real blog. No fluff. No jargon. Just clear, prioritised actions.
What BlogVitals Checks
A BlogVitals report covers six core areas — the same six that determine whether a blog post ranks, engages, and converts:
- SEO — title length, meta descriptions, OG tags, slug structure
- Marketing — social sharing, email capture and more
- Visual Content — featured images, image density, alt text coverage
- Text Content — keyword placement, heading structure, readability, word count
- Accessibility — alt text, ARIA roles, keyboard navigation, color contrast
- Technical — link quantity, distribution, and authority signals
Who It's For
BlogVitals is built for independent bloggers, content creators, and small publishing teams who want clear, actionable health reports without a steep learning curve or enterprise price tag.
If you publish on WordPress, Substack, Ghost, Medium, or any custom CMS — you can use BlogVitals to check any public URL in seconds.
Your first check is completely free. No account required. Just paste a URL and hit Check Vitals. We think you'll be surprised by what you find.
The Team
BlogVitals is a small, independent product built in Perth, Western Australia. We're a team of developers, SEO practitioners, and writers who believe that better content deserves better tooling.
We don't take VC money, run ads, or sell your data. We make money when bloggers find our reports valuable enough to upgrade. That alignment keeps us honest.
